About the journal aims and scopes

The Scientometrics Research Journal (Scientific Bi-Quarterly of Shahed University) is an open-access research journal that publishes papers in the related fields of scientometrics. As Shahed University is the scientometrics core and the first university that created the syllabus of the scientometrics master course in Iran, Tehran and founded the course in 2011, it has also published the journal as the scientometrics main journal in Iran since 2015. Ministry of Science, Research and Technology of Iran (MSRT) has approved the journal and furthermore, it has been indexed in the ISC (Islamic World Science Citation Center) as one of the Q1 rank indexed journals.

Furthermore, the Scientometrics Research Journal is covered by the Scopus citation index, and from the Spring-Summer 2021 issue onwards, articles published in this journal are indexed in that citation database.

According to the March 2025 report of the Scimago database, the Scientometrics Research Journal has achieved a Q3 rank based on data from 2021 to 2024 in the Scopus.

In addition, according to the Journals Commission Ranking of Ministry of Science, Research and Technology (MSRT) ), the journal was ranked A in 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022, and achieved International ranking in 2023, 2024.

The journal undertakes rigorous peer-review and refereeing of all manuscripts and publishes high-quality articles in the following fields:

Science, technology and innovation assessment and evaluation, Scientometrics, patentometrics, webometrics, cybermetrics, altmetrics, bibliometrics, informetrics, science mapping and visualization, relations between science and other related factors (such as economic, political, technologic and etc.), research evaluation, assessing and evaluating the planning and policy-making of science, technology and innovation, evaluation of scientific productivity, academic impact and social impact

 

 

Scientometrics Research Journal (Scientific Bi-Quarterly of Shahed University) uses double-blind review, which means that both the reviewer and author identities are concealed from the reviewers, and vice versa, throughout the review process.

This journal is an open-access research journal that publishes papers in the related fields of scientometrics. Access to the full papers as well as publication in the Journal is free, and the journal waives the fees of publishing for authors also charges no further fees. The kind of License permitted of the journal is Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) which means the papers are published freely and authors retain the copyright and full publishing rights without restrictions. Also, the users and readers are permitted to share, copy, redistribute the material in any medium or format. Furthermore, they are permitted to remix, transform, and build upon the material for any purpose, even commercially, and these freedoms cannot be revoked as long as they follow the license terms and cite the materials.

In this journal, There is no charge to authors for reviewing and publishing their articles,  and articles are published for free.
