Purpose: Aim of paper is study on research outputs in social and behavioral sciences at Shahid Beheshti University using scientometric and Altmetrics indicators during 2010-2020.
Methodology: Scopus, Scival and Altmetric were used to data gathering. Data analysis was performed using descriptive and inferential statistics tests.
Findings: The total number of research outputs in social sciences and behavior was 1603,, social sciences with 712 outputs (44.4%), had the highest amount of research outputs. In terms of effectiveness, social sciences had the highest citations, in terms of average citations, h index, weighted impact at the field level, highly cited articles in the range of 10%, and top journals in the threshold of 25% , business, management, and accounting are ranked highest. In the section on international and national cooperation, psychology with 31.9% and 49.1%, respectively, in the section on institutional cooperation, business, management, and accounting with 30.7%, and in the individual section, Social sciences had the most collaborations with 13.8%. social sciences was ranked first in terms of media presence with 18.5%.
Conclusion: the results of Spearman test showed that psychology had a statistically significant positive relationship and decision science had a statistically significant negative relationship between citation index and altmetric score.
