Abstract

Abstract
Purpose: Given that university-industry cooperation is associated with the transfer of knowledge and technology, therefore, one of the indicators of countries' development is the appropriate cooperation between universities and industry; Due to the importance of this topic, in the present article, it seeks to analyze the state of cooperation between Iran's university and industry based on the co-publishing of articles indexed in the Web of Science database in the period of 2010-2022, from the aspect of financial support. According to the results of the present research, national policy makers and planners can be informed about the reality of the state of university-industry cooperation in Iran, and in order to provide appropriate strategies to improve the cooperation between university and industry in Iran, in having codified and extensive planning for movement Take action in the direction of the development of Iran.
Methodology: The current research method is descriptive and quantitative. The statistical population of this research includes 2891 articles. According to the data of the current research, which includes all articles with financial support, the result of cooperation between universities and industry in Iran during the period from 2010 to 2022; Therefore, no sampling method has been used. For this purpose, the sampling method used in the current research is census type. In order to investigate the cooperation between university and industry through scientific productions (articles), the inclusion of the name of at least one author with an industrial organizational affiliation and one author with an academic organizational affiliation and having a financial sponsor in each article is the basis of this research. The Web of Science database was used to collect data.
Findings: According to the findings of the current research, the highest amount of financial support in cooperation between industries and universities of Iran was recorded in 2021 with 430 articles and the lowest amount was recorded in 2010 with 89 articles. In the international section, 78 countries have co-published with Iran, and in this field, the United States has published more articles with Iran than other countries. England, Canada, Australia, France, New Zealand, China, Germany, Italy and Russia are other countries that have had a large number of cooperation cases with Iran. The data related to financial support institutions showed that the National Iranian Oil Company along with its subsidiaries with (9.79%); Iran National Petrochemical Company along with its subsidiaries with (4.74%); Support fund for researchers and technologists with (4.08%); Islamic Azad University with (3.22%); National Gas Company and its subsidiaries with (3.18%); University of Tehran with (2.94%); and Tehran University of Medical Sciences with (2.80%) have provided the most financial support. Out of a total of 251 subject areas of Web of Science, 151 areas have received financial support in cooperation between the university and the industry. Based on thematic analysis, chemical engineering fields with (10.27%); environmental sciences and materials science with (4.28%); energy and fuels with (4.21%); and water resources with (3.65%), are the most used topics in the articles.
Conclusion: The annual growth rate in articles having financial support showed that the 13-year process of cooperation between university and industry has been accompanied by many fluctuations and in some years there has been a negative jump; In addition, most of the financially supporting industries are government companies that own the basic and main industries of Iran, which have high incomes, and in a way, a huge part of the investments in this cooperation are made with the government budget. Regarding the subjects used in the articles, the results showed that, although the fields are diverse and wide, but nevertheless, the lack of some subjects, especially the fields of humanities and social sciences, is felt.
