Abstract:
Purpose: Higher education and professors outputs play an important role in the development of any country. The purpose of the study is to examine the indicators and research productivity of faculty members in the field of painting at government and free universities in Tehran city.
Methodology: The present study is an applied study that is a descriptive survey in terms of data collection. In this study, the scientometric approach was used to conduct the research. The statistical population includes 23 professors of painting in government and free universities in Tehran city from 2018 to 2021 that were purposefully selected. Data collection tool was a researcher made questionnaire.
Exhibitions as outputs of this field, many professors are unfamiliar with the methods of research in the art, periodic of travel and international conferences due to financial problems and lack of motivation among professors and officials to improve their academic rank, respectively, the most important obstacles to the fair promotion of professors in the field of painting.
Conclusion: Based on the findings, it can be concluded that the current regulations for promotion of professors are not able to fairly evaluate professors in the field of painting.
